Vaute Couture: Fabulous and Friendly

VauteLogo.jpg

Vaute Couture Logo In the wake of fashion week I realize that once again life got in the way and I totally blanked on making the most out of the week.  There are tons of eco-friendly and vegan fashion lines that showed through the week and an amazing production of shows at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea called The Green Shows.  I'll definitely RSVP in time to see as many as I can for Fall 20011 Fashion Week, but at least I got one great appointment in for this past week.

Aunt Bonnie and I met with the lovely and talented Leanne Hilgart who showed me her collection of winter coats and jackets, Vaute Couture.  Leanne is from the Windy City, so aside from being entirely eco-friendly, vegan, and locally made, her coats are unbelievably warm and wind-proof.  She tells me this collection's inspiration pulls from an Audrey Hepburn iconic style and origami.  Many of the pieces have big, flowy, girly skirts and shaped bodices paired with perfect pleats and folds in all the right places.

I fell in love with both Leanne and her collection!  I bought one for myself and after coming home and telling my mom all about it, she bought one too!

You can read more about her amazing designs and fabrics here or you can purchase here, but meanwhile, check out my pics from our "date":

This Vaute Couture cape jacket was adorable and totally vegan.

If you're looking for a pea coat, this is the one: vegan, eco-friendly, and totally cute!

This updated version of Vaute Couture's signature coat was a really pretty, long, winter coat.

This white coat looked great on Aunt Bonnie and was perfect for jeans or a dress!

This vegan tulip shaped coat was so cute and supersoft.

This puffer coat was wind proof and fashion forward.

This vegan jacket was perfect, comfy, and I see myself wearing it non-stop!
